Production of the Estima Hybrid started in May 2001 at the Motomachi plant, and the vehicle was on sale in Japan from June 2001. The Hybrid was a version of the second generation Estima. Estima Hybrid production at the Fujimatsu plant followed in June 2002. It was model year 2 of 3 in the Toyota Previa (second generation, XR30 and XR40), 2000 to 2005, coming after the 2000 model year and before the 2002 model year.
