In August 2015 Toyota launched an updated, facelifted version of the J200 Land Cruiser in Japan, later sold globally, with a new 8 speed electronically controlled automatic transmission mated to the 5.7 liter 3UR-FE V8. The second facelift was unveiled in the United States in September 2015 for the 2016 model year. The Land Cruiser was discontinued in the UK market in 2015. It was model year 6 of 8 in the Toyota Land Cruiser (200 series, J200), 2007 to 2020, coming after the 2014 model year and before the 2016 model year.
