The Kijang entered the Indonesian market on 9 June 1977, after its unnamed prototype had been shown at the 1975 Jakarta Fair, although it had been on sale in the Philippines since 2 December 1976. It shared the 3K engine with the 1972 Corolla. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Kijang (first generation, F10), 1976 to 1980, and the Toyota Kijang (second generation, F20 and F30) came next, following the 1976 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Kijang run from 1976 to 2007.
