The Fortuner was launched in Pakistan in 2009 but started to be locally manufactured in February 2013. In October 2013 the Fortuner underwent a minor update in Malaysia, and in South Africa it received minor interior upgrades, notably a black leather interior. It was model year 10 of 11 in the Toyota Fortuner (first generation, AN50 and AN60), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2012 model year and before the 2014 model year.
