A minor redesign of the Fortuner was launched in July 2008, and in August 2008 the first facelift became available in Malaysia and Thailand with four grade models in Malaysia including TRD Sportivo versions. In Singapore the first facelift changed the headlight and tail light clusters in 2008. It was model year 5 of 11 in the Toyota Fortuner (first generation, AN50 and AN60), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2007 model year and before the 2009 model year.
