The twelfth generation is built on the TNGA-C platform and comes as a hatchback, an estate and a sedan. The hatchback was shown at the Geneva show in March 2018 as the Auris, and from January 2019 Europe went back to calling it Corolla after twelve years. The sedan came in two forms, a Prestige one for China, Europe and Southeast Asia and a Sporty one for North America, Japan and Australia, and the high performance GR Corolla debuted in March 2022.
