Toyota Corolla (sixth generation, E90)

Automobiles

The E90, introduced on 15 May 1987, was a more rounded and aerodynamic Corolla with a more refined feel than its predecessors. Most cars were front wheel drive with a few all wheel drive All-Trac models, and engines ranged from a 1.3 liter to a supercharged 4A-GZE making 123 kilowatts. The wagon followed in August 1987, a joint venture with Holden sold the Australian cars as the Nova, and in 1990 Japanese sales of the car reached 300,008 units, the highest annual figure for any Japanese car at that time.
