The E120 sedan and wagon went on sale in Japan on 28 August 2000, in front or all wheel drive. For North America the older E110 gained variable valve timing and individual coils on the 2000 model year, raising output from 120 to 125 horsepower. This was the first model year of the Toyota Corolla (ninth generation, E120 and E130), 2000 to 2005, which took over from the Toyota Corolla (eighth generation, E110); the 2001 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Corolla run from 1966 to 2026.
