The Lexus LBX is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV in the B segment, the smallest crossover in the Lexus range, slotting below the UX. It was developed mainly for Europe and Japan and was introduced in Milan in June 2023. It is the first Lexus on the Toyota TNGA-B platform that it shares with the Yaris and Yaris Cross, and it entered production at the end of 2023 and went on sale in Europe and other markets in early 2024. A bi-polar nickel-metal hydride battery serves its hybrid system. Lexus says the name stands for Lexus Breakthrough X(cross)-over, and it avoids the plain name BX because of the Citroen BX built until 1994.
