The Infiniti Kuraza is a luxury sport utility concept that Nissan designed under the Infiniti brand at the Nissan Technical Center in Atsugi, Japan, under product design director Kojii Nagano. It made its world debut at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and never reached production. The design puts space ahead of utility, with stadium-style six-passenger seating and wide unhinged third-row doors so that every passenger has easy access and equal comfort, an idea Nagano described as hospitality rather than transportation. Japanese heritage shows in seatbacks shaped after the kimono, layered fabrics that recall Juni-hitoe, and a tall vertical touch screen inspired by the Kakejiku scroll. Outside it has a double-arch aluminium grille, LED headlights and 23-inch wheels, and the concept was poorly received by the public.
