The seventh generation Legacy made its debut at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show on 7 February 2019, to be sold at United States and Canadian dealerships starting in the third quarter of 2019 for the 2020 model year. The sixth generation was in its last year of production in 2019, built in Lafayette, Indiana, and in Japan. The Legacy is a mid-size car built by the Japanese automaker Subaru from 1989 to 2025. The maker's flagship car, it is unique in its class for offering all wheel drive as a standard feature, and Subaru's traditional boxer engine.
