The 1995 model year L front wheel drive SVX is so rare that many have never heard of or seen one, leading some experts to believe that extraordinarily few, or perhaps none, were actually sold. The SVX was in its fourth year on sale, a two door coupe with the 3.3 liter boxer six engine, built in Japan and sold in North America, Japan and other markets. The name Alcyone refers to the brightest star in the Pleiades constellation, stylized in the Subaru company logo.
