The Maserati MC12 is a limited production two-seat sports car built by Maserati in 2004 and 2005 so that a racing variant could compete in the FIA GT Championship, which required at least 25 road cars. It is built on the chassis of the Ferrari Enzo but is longer, wider and taller, with an all carbon fibre body, a monocoque of carbon and Nomex, and a two-metre rear spoiler. It uses a 5,998 cc Ferrari-derived 65 degree V12 giving 463 kW and a six-speed automated manual gearbox called Cambiocorsa, with a maximum speed of 330 km/h. Fifty road cars were built in two batches of 25, and 12 more for racing, 62 in all.
