Maserati Mistral

Automobiles

The Maserati Mistral is a two-seat gran turismo built by Maserati between 1963 and 1970 as the successor to the 3500 GT. Pietro Frua styled it, Maggiora of Turin built the bodies, and it was first shown at the Turin motor show in November 1963. It was offered as a coupe and as a Spyder, 844 coupes and 124 Spyders in all, and it was the last Maserati road car with the twin-spark, double overhead cam straight six engine of the 250F Grand Prix cars. Three engine sizes of 3500, 3700 and 4000 cc were fitted, the largest giving 265 bhp, and the car reached roughly 225 to 233 km/h. It was the first Maserati to carry the name of a wind and was followed by the Ghibli.
