The Simca Aronde P60 was the last series of the Simca Aronde, built by the French maker Simca from 1959 until it was replaced by the Simca 1300 on 22 May 1963. Its name stood for personalisation, through a wide choice of two-tone bodies, for Poissy, the new factory that assembled it, and for the 1960s. It was shown at the Paris salon in the autumn of 1958 and put on sale in January 1959, and it was in fact a restyle of the Aronde 1300 that kept the whole mechanical base, with the Flash engine and from 1961 the five-bearing Rush engine, after which it was often called the Aronde Rush. The range covered saloons, estates, coaches, vans and Facel-bodied coupes and cabriolets such as the Plein-Ciel and the Océane. Output reached a record 194,553 cars in the first year, and about 455,000 P60 were built out of 1,425,329 Arondes in all. It was sold in the United States from 1958 to 1962.
