The MG ZT was produced by MG Rover from 2001 to 2005 in saloon and estate versions, the estate being the ZT-T. Its styling is similar to the Rover 75 on which it was based, with changes ranging from upgraded suspension and brakes to revised engine tuning for the petrol models. Developed under the codenames X10 for the saloon and X11 for the estate, it was launched in 2001, less than a year after MG Rover was demerged from BMW, and production ceased in April 2005 amid financial turmoil at MG Rover. Unlike the other new MG models, its high-power version could be bought as a standard specification, and engines included K-series and KV6 petrol units, a Ford Modular V8 and a BMW M47 diesel.
