The FPV F6 was a full-size sedan and coupe utility built by Ford Performance Vehicles from 2004 until 2014 and based on the Ford Falcon, first on the BA Mk II. Where the GT used a V8, the F6 was powered by a turbocharged 4.0-litre inline-six derived from the Ford Barra engine, the Barra 270T producing 270 kW in the BA and BF series and the Barra 310T producing 310 kW from the FG of 2008. In the BA and BF series the sedan was called the Typhoon and the utility the Tornado, names dropped with the FG. An executive F6 E arrived in 2009, the car was discontinued in 2014, and a 2005 recall followed clutch failures on the Typhoon.
