The Mark II version of the P5 was introduced in 1962, with the most notable addition to the range being the option of the Coupe body style, launched in autumn 1962, a more rakish car with a lowered roof line. By 1962 the production of the original Mark I series had ended, with 20,963 produced. The Mark II was sold alongside the P6 from its launch in 1963. Rover built the Mark II and the Coupe. The Mark I series had ended that year.
