The Rover Light Six was announced in October 1929 as a narrower lightweight short wheelbase version of the Two litre sports saloon. It was one of the cars produced when Spencer and Maurice Wilks introduced new management practices and engineering techniques to Rover. The car had a three speed gearbox controlled by a flexible lever in a gate with a stop to avoid engaging reverse, and half elliptic springs all round.
