After the First World War a new Rover 8 was offered from 1919 to 1925, a twin cylinder 998 cubic centimeter light car, later enlarged to 1134 cubic centimeters. This light car had been announced in October 1917 and was designed by Jack Sangster largely before he joined Rover. In 1924 it was superseded by a four cylinder 1074 cubic centimeter Rover 9. Its model years run from 1919 to 1925. It replaced the first car of the name, which had ended in 1912.
