Production of the 600 Series continued until the beginning of 1999, when it was replaced with the retro styled Rover 75, developed under BMW's stewardship. An estate would eventually resurface with the Rover 75 Tourer when it was launched in July 2001. The 600 Series was the compact executive car produced by Rover from 1993, positioned further upmarket than the Montego it replaced. It was the final year of the 600.
