In 1993 Rover finally added the new grille and body coloured bumpers to the 200 range, which its 400 sibling had received at the 1992 facelift. The grille was the one Rover had reintroduced on the 1992 R17 facelift of the Rover 800. The R8 Rover 200 was in its fifth year in 1993, and was made at the Longbridge factory by Rover. The 200 and 400 shared these changes. The change put the 200 in line with the 400.
