1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche

Automobiles

The Corniche name was applied in March 1971 to the Mulliner Park Ward two door versions of the Silver Shadow, which had been the 2 door Saloon and the Drophead Coupe introduced in 1965 and 1966. The Corniche immediately became a status symbol for celebrities, with Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones all buying one, and David Bowie, Michael Caine, Elton John and Dean Martin on two year long waiting lists.
