The 25/30 replaced the 20/25 in 1936, an updated version with a larger engine to provide more power, as over large bodies had often been fitted to the earlier model leading to complaints about its performance. The four speed gearbox was mounted in unit with the engine, with a traditional right hand change and synchromesh fitted to third and top gears, and the chassis was riveted with rigid axles. The 25/30 was built by Rolls-Royce Limited.
