1968 Riley Kestrel and 1300

Automobiles

Mark II versions of the MG, Riley, Vanden Plas and Wolseley were introduced in October 1968, at which time Riley abandoned the Kestrel name and the car became the Riley 1300. The Riley of 1968 was the Mark II of the ADO16, built by British Leyland after BMC's merger, with the 1275 cc engine, in a year in which the ADO16 was again Britain's best selling car. The Kestrel name was dropped. The Mark II was introduced in October.
