1983 Range Rover

Automobiles

In 1983 the Range Rover moved away from the combined four-speed LT95 manual and transfer unit to a five-speed LT77 gearbox with a separate LT230 transfer box, which was later also used in the Defender and Discovery. Australian assembly from kits ended that year after the government raised the tariff on parts. It was also the year of the first Land Rover One Ten, which shared the Range Rover's permanent four-wheel-drive technology.
