1981 Range Rover

Automobiles

In July 1981 Land Rover began making its own four-door Range Rover, based on the Monteverdi conversion shown the year before, which was well received by the public. Until then the Range Rover had only two doors to preserve body strength, with rear passengers entering through two large, heavy front doors that had a second set of inside latches. The year also saw another win in the Paris-Dakar Rally, and Venezuelan assembly ended.
