Discontinued in 1991, the Tempest was replaced with the Grand Am sedan. The main differences separating the Tempest from its L body twin were a different grille, emblems and taillights, which were later adopted as the American Corsica's taillights, while the only other differences were wheel options, daytime running lamps and a metric instrument cluster. It was also sold briefly in Israel. The 1991 Tempest was the last, a Canadian car built at Wilmington.
