The Tempest model line received another facelift for 1970, and a new option was Pontiac's D port 455 cubic inch HO engine, now that General Motors had rescinded its earlier ban on intermediates with engines larger than 400 cubic inches. The short lived Vacuum Operated Exhaust option was offered from November 1969 to January 1970 and was canceled after a television commercial aired during Super Bowl IV, with about 233 built, and Orbit Orange became the feature color of the Judge.
