For 1992 the Grand Am's N body platform was widened to match the Corsica's, and the suspension and braking systems are about eighty percent in common. On the SE, an anti lock braking system was available. The fourth generation of the Grand Am followed the third generation of 1985 to 1991, and was again a front wheel drive compact assembled at the Lansing Car Assembly in Michigan, with a coupe and a sedan.
