The Valiant went on sale for the 1960 model year with the all new slant six engine and unibody construction. Early 1960 models, especially the high trim V200, carried extensive brightwork, including an eight inch chrome spear on each front fender. During the model year there were revisions for lubrication, the voltage regulator, cold starting and idling, and acceleration. A station wagon built only at the Dodge Main plant was also offered in V100 and V200 trim.
