Production ended on March 9, 1994, with the Shadow and Sundance being replaced by the Dodge and Plymouth Neon. The Plymouth Sundance was sold from the 1987 model year as a compact three door and five door hatchback, and it was built at Sterling Heights Assembly in Michigan for its whole run. The Sundance was criticized by some for the Duster name, but delivered very good performance for its price.
