A new center console which included storage space, an integrated armrest and rear seat cupholders was fitted to the 1997 Breeze. The Breeze was available with an optional four speed automatic transmission, although the Autostick manual shift feature was not available on the Breeze, unlike the Stratus and Cirrus. The Breeze also gained Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1996 and 1997 along with its platform mates.
