The Holden One Tonner was a cab chassis utility vehicle that Holden produced between 1971 and 1985, from the HQ series to the WB, and again between 2003 and 2005 with the VY and VZ Commodore. It was sold in South Africa as the Chevrolet El Toro between 1974 and 1978. The HQ One Tonner was produced from 1971 to 1974 and offered with the 2.8 litre 173 and 3.3 litre 202 six cylinder engines and the 4.1 litre 253 and 5.0 litre 308 Holden V8 engines. In base form it kept its own unique front treatment introduced with the HQ range and continued with it until the WB series in 1980, and the HZ series brought Radial Tuned Suspension to all models. After an 18 year hiatus the VY series returned the One Tonner in two trims, a base model and the S, and production ceased in December 2005 to make room in the factory for the VE Commodore, after poor sales results.
