The Holden Crewman was a four door version of the Holden Ute, built by Holden from 2003 to 2007 and the first four door utility the company ever offered. It launched in September 2003 with the VY series and carried over into the VZ series in August 2004. The Crewman differed from the standard Ute in having a second row of seating, a longer wheelbase of 3,206 millimetres against 2,939 millimetres and a shorter tray of 1,463 millimetres against 2,193 millimetres. In December 2003 Holden added the Crewman Cross 8, its first all wheel drive utility, powered by a 225 kilowatt V8 engine with bolstered wheelarches and a raised ride height, and the VZ range added the V6 powered Cross 6. Crewmans were factory speed limited to 160 kilometres per hour because of the long driveshaft, and citing poor sales Holden chose not to build a Crewman for the VE series.
