The GMC Syclone is a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma compact pickup truck. GMC produced it in 1991 along with Production Automotive Services, the same company credited with building the 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am, and it was the fastest production truck of 1991. After the Syclone, the similarly powered 1992 to 1993 GMC Typhoon SUV was based on the GMC Jimmy platform, and the 1992 GMC Sonoma GT truck was offered as a sport package with the looks of a Syclone but without its price and performance, of which only 806 were produced.
