Steering wheel controls of the 2016 and 2017 Tacoma had reduced functionality, and the limitations were removed starting with the 2018 model year. For 2018 the TRD Pro gained Midnight Black Metallic and Cavalry Blue, and Toyota announced it would raise Tijuana output from about 100,000 to 160,000. It was model year 3 of 8 in the Toyota Tacoma (third generation, N300 to N330), 2016 to 2023, coming after the 2017 model year and before the 2019 model year.
