The Manta was built by German manufacturer Opel in two generations from 1970 to 1988, and the second generation, the Manta B, was discontinued in 1988. It was a rear wheel drive coupe in both generations, a sporty two door car on the Ascona platform, and in Britain the Opel Manta had been sold beside the Vauxhall Cavalier coupe and sports hatch. The 1988 Manta was the last model year of the second generation, which Opel built from August 1975.
