The Toyota Blizzard is a four-wheel-drive vehicle that Daihatsu built for Toyota from March 1980 to 1990, sold only at Toyota Vista Store locations. The first generation, the LD10 launched in 1980, was a version of the Daihatsu Taft, also known as the Scat, and it carried a naturally aspirated 2.2 litre diesel engine. It was replaced in 1984 by the second generation LD20, based on the Daihatsu Rugger, with a 2.4 litre 2L diesel producing 83 PS that gained the 96 PS 2L-T turbodiesel from 1985. The engines were first coupled to a Toyota four-speed manual transmission, and models from 1983 came with a five-speed.
