The final season of the Airflyte styling brought heavily facelifted 1955 cars under Edmund Anderson, with a wrap around Scenaramic windshield and a new oval grille that held the headlights, plus raised front wheel arches that showed more of the front tire than any Nash since 1949. For the first time the Ambassador could be ordered with a V8 engine, supplied by Packard under Mason's plan to bring Packard into American Motors.
