The Series I Isis was launched in March 1955 as a replacement for the Morris Six MS, with a six cylinder engine of 2.6 liters and 86 horsepower, taken from the Austin Westminster but with a single SU carburettor. The four speed gearbox had a column change and an optional Borg Warner overdrive. It was based on the four cylinder Oxford Series II and, with the larger engine, could reach 90 miles an hour.
