Production of the Series E continued through the war for the military, for essential civilian use and for some export, and general production restarted after the war in 1945, but no more tourers were made in the United Kingdom. In Australia a flourishing bodybuilding industry went on providing tourer versions on imported chassis. A very similar Wolseley Eight was also prepared in the 1930s and offered after 1945.
