The fourth generation Triton of 2007 was in its third year, mostly known as L200 except for Japan and its subsidiary countries' markets, with a 2.5 liter turbo diesel developing 134 kilowatts and an off road L200 version called the Savana with 200 horsepower. Despite its success overseas, it was a critical failure in Japan as workmen and traders preferred vans. Cumulative sales of the first three generations exceeded 2.8 million units around the world.
