Mitsubishi itself imported it as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max when it began selling directly in the US from 1982, at which point the Plymouth ceased to be sold. Four wheel drive was added for 1982 in the United States. The Dodge Ram 50 continued as the Chrysler badged captive import. In Japan it was previously sold at a specific retail chain called Car Plaza. The Triton is a mid-size pickup truck, also known as the Mitsubishi L200, produced by Mitsubishi Motors.
