The Sigma of 1992 was in its second year as a pillared six window sedan version of the Diamante, sold in Japan and in Europe, where the station wagon version built in Australia carried the same name. A partial improvement was made in May 1992, and the car was the base of the second generation of the Magna, which Mitsubishi Motors Australia made, and sold in Japan as the sister of the Diamante hardtop. The Sigma was a six window, pillared sedan sister of the Diamante hardtop sedan.
