The Minicab and the Clipper were both facelifted in July 2012, to meet new safety regulations. The Minicab of 2012 was in its fourteenth year as the sixth generation, a petrol engined kei truck and microvan beside the Minicab MiEV, an electric version, and it was sold in Japan with the Nissan Clipper twin, which was made by Mitsubishi on behalf of Nissan. The Minicab MiEV remains in production as of 2025. The Minicab was sold in Japan at a specific retail chain called Galant Shop.
