In January 1990 the naturally aspirated Minicab models were upgraded to the 657 cc 3G83 engine, the U18 and U19, as a result of new regulations, and a minor facelift with bigger bumpers increased the length marginally. This generation, the U10, was built until November 1990, with 707,348 fourth generation Minicabs built, and supercharged versions with the smaller engine were discontinued in 1990. The Minicab was sold in Japan at a specific retail chain called Galant Shop.
