A station wagon debuted in 1987. April 1987 brought the first update to the Magna, designated TN, with cosmetic changes including a new grille insert and the relocation of the rear license plate to the bumper. Magna offered inline four engines in a mid size sedan package initially. The Magna was developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, with each generation derived from Japanese platforms re engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
