The Libero of 1993 was in its second year, a station wagon on the base of the fourth generation Lancer and Mirage, with the commercial van Libero Cargo. The Libero Cargo kept to the end the 1.3 and 1.5 liter 12 valve engines with three valves per cylinder with an electronically controlled one barrel downdraft carburetor, and the diesel, which made it the Japanese car that kept the carburetor the longest. The passenger wagon was called the Libero and the commercial van the Libero Cargo.
