The five door station wagon of the first generation, long running since 1973, was replaced by the front wheel drive Lancer and Mirage Van in March 1984. The Mirage derived Lancer Fiore was a front wheel drive compact with four body styles. In most markets the Fiore had Mirage style horizontal grilles, but in Australia and New Zealand the actual Lancer Fiore with its honeycomb grille was sold as the Colt and Mirage. The Lancer was marketed under many names including Colt, Mirage and Eagle Summit in various countries.
